Beautiful Coba’ Restaurant at the newly built Viceroy Anguilla, Residences and Spa, set the scene last Friday December 4th, to a sold out crowd of over 150 persons, who came to congratulate the winners of the 2009 Tourism Awards.
Gary Thulander General Manager of Cap Juluca, was named HOTELIER OF THE Year Maurice Connor and Franklyn Richardson were the two PIONEERS OF THE YEAR RECIPIENTS JACQUIE RUAN OF RIPPLES in Sandy Ground was honoured as ALLIED MEMBER OF THE YEAR.
Employee of the Year was Patson Williams from Cap Juluca Resort and Spa, while Deborah Richardson from Malliouhana Resort and Spa was named Supervisor of the Year. Desmond Mussington was awarded Seaport Employee of the year, and Susan Richardson, was selected Airport Employee of the year.
Grand opening is scheduled for December 16th, 2009

It was a glittery event, and guests were welcomed by President of the AHTA, 3rd, VP of CHTA, and General Manager of Paradise Cove, Mrs. Sherille Hughes.
This was followed with brief remarks from His Excellency Governor Alistair Harrison. Mr. Delroy Lake, Vice President of the AHTA and General Manager of Ku Hotel, was Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Gilda Gumbs-Samuel Membership/Events Manager of the AHTA, remarked Viceroy Anguilla, was the perfect location to honour our industry’s best, and it was very accommodating, supportive and easy to work with. A delicious three course menu was served, with wines and champagnes sponsored by Les Grandes Vins De France. As each guest arrived, beautiful snap shots were taken by Rocklyn Maynard of Professional Photos, and these will be available on line shortly. For the first time in the history of the Gala, music was provided by two separate musical groups. The fabulous Boss and the Horsepower Band who entertained inside the restaurant, and the ever popular DJ Sugar, who provided music until the wee hours of the morning at the pool bar. Dancing went on until 2:30 am. From all reports, a good time was had by all.
