ANGUILLA’S OWN BRITISH DEPENDENCY, IS OFF TO CUT IT’S DEBUT CD:
British Dependency is on the way to New Jersey to record its debut album. The group which has been wooing audiences in Anguilla at all of our major festivals and resorts, will travel to the United States, on the 14th of February to work with Producers Davon Carty, Michael Carvin, Dae Bennett and Mitch Maketansky with rehearsals in Manhattan on the 15th and 16th of February and recording at Tony Bennett’s Studio on the 17th and 18th of February. The Band is due back in Anguilla on the 21st February.
British Dependency launches this initiative compliments of the collaboration between the Government of Anguilla, Anguilla Music Production and Publishing (AMPP) West Indie Records, The Dune Preserve and Veya Restaurant, who are all striving to diversify the local and regional economies through the implementation and promotion of Arts and Arts Development Programmes. The members of British Dependency have benefited from this collaboration and are contributing to this mission within the local community. Mr Darius James of British De-pendency, has recently opened The Darius James Drum Clinic in South Hill to support the optimum development of young drummers in Anguilla.
In addition, the group has launched its Young Artiste Initiative by providing production services for a number of young artistes including Karema Gumbs, Nyne, Omalie Jimena Bautista and Tahira Banks.
The Musicians of British Dependency would like to take the time to thank all those who played a role throughout the evolution and the growth of the group.
