GROUND BREAKING FOR NEW ANGUILLIAN OWNED PROPERTY AT RENDEZVOUS BAY:
THE VALLEY, Anguilla, Feb 1 – Government officials here have confirmed that a groundbreaking ceremony to launch a new tourism project took place at the Rendezvous Beach on Tuesday. The project is a 200-room property featuring cottages and condominiums, tennis courts and a full treatment spa with six star amenities. The new resort will be located on ten acres of land between the Anguilla Great House and the CuisinArt Resort and Spa. The buildings, to be constructed from timber, will showcase modern versions of the traditional Anguillian property. Government officials said the property will aim to greatly improve the island’s environment and energy supply.
The new concept is that of Anguillian D. Vinny Gumbs, who is from Island Harbour, has lived for many years in the United Kingdom. The project is expected to be completed in two years. Among the persons listed to give remarks at the ground breaking ceremony are outgoing Chief Minister Osbourne Fleming, and Tourism and Finance Minister Victor Banks.
