A Word on the Jacala – New Restaurant on Meads Bay – Intuitive Cuisine Beach Restaurant
We had a wonderful dinner at ‘Jacala’, the newly opened beachfront restaurant on Meads Bay owned by none other than Jacques formerly the Maitre’D at Malliouhana. Simple, understated island décor and great food & wine at reasonable prices (for the island). Jacques was a terrific host and his staff most attentive. We wish him well on his new adventure and we will defiantly dine again before leaving the island. I think they are open for lunch & dinner but check first 264-498-5888! Just a few corrections regarding your post on ‘Jacala’, The restaurant isn’t owned only by Jacques, but also the chef, Alain Laurent, also formerly the Executive Chef of Malliouhana. They decided to go into business together at the beginning of the season. That’s how the name of the restaurant came into being, JAC for Jacques and ALA for Alain. JACALA.
