RAINBOW FOR HAITI AT LANDSOME BOWL:
A group of young people from throughout Anguilla is planning an event to help the Red Cross raise funds to help the people of Haiti. The event – a benefit concert titled “Rainbows For Haiti”, will be held on February 27th from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Centre and will feature a wide variety of local talent, both religious and secular. Already confirmed for the show are British Dependency, Jaine Rogers, Better Band, From Within Dance (FWD Dance Group), Infusion Band, Darvin Mussington, Overdrive String Band, Panther Vibes, Klassique Academy of Dance, Bankie Banx, Exodus Band, Dread Ites and Boss and the Horsepower Band. All performers have agreed to do so free of cost. The concert organizers are collaborating with other organizations that have already helped or continue to help the cause in Haiti, including the Disaster Management Office, The Tourist Board, The Rotaract and Rotary Clubs, The Lions Club, and Less Talk More Action. Slideshows depicting the devastation caused by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12th will also be previewed at the event. There is an admission fee of $5.00US for audience members and all money collected, including revenue from drinks sold, will go directly to the Anguilla Red Cross to help the cause in Haiti.
