The Caribbean respectfully extends our sincerest condolences to the Nettleford family, as well as, the extended Caribbean family that Professor Nettleford nurtured both directly and indirectly; the UWI; Jamaica’s National Dance Theatre Company, which he founded and led for almost fifty years; and all who mourn his loss.
We regard Professor Rex Nettleford, as our friend because he was the embodiment of Jamaica’s rich culture and our Cultural Ambassador who had an unwavering devotion to his people and region.

You will be truly missed and hard to replace as we continue on to reach to greater heights in our national development.
