CULTURAL INDUSTRIES, ANGUILLA’S ECONOMIC SALVATION:
26 July, 2010 at the Teacher’s Resource Centre. The key note speaker for the evening will be Mr. Perin Bradley.
Mr. Bradley has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Howard University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Durham University. He has worked with the Government of Anguilla as Deputy Registrar of Companies and currently serves as the Trade and Investment Officer at the Ministry of Economic Development.
Mr. Bradley will present an analysis of Anguilla’s economy. He will examine the concept of cultural industries and present case studies of best practice around the world that demonstrate the use of cultural industries to diversify and promote growth in small island states with limited resources. He will explore the potential impact of cultural industries on Anguilla and outline a model for the sustainable incorporation of Cultural Industries into Anguilla’s economic development.
The forum will also feature a performance by rising stars British Dependency fresh off their Debut album.
The forum is part of a series being held as part of the process to develop a culture policy for Anguilla. They are designed to provide the general public an opportunity explore the relationship between culture and development and to provide input into the policy. The process is being spearheaded by the Culture Policy Development Committee, within the Ministry of Social Development. Please make every effort to attend this event.
