Shara Proctor Anguilla’s Golden girl shines again
With the 2010 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) under 23 track and field Championships in the annals of history, it will show that Anguilla secured a gold medal. Ranked amongst the world top ten long jumpers, Shara Proctor shone in all her glory as she battled competitors from the region. Her poise and superior skills were able to inch pass her closes competitor Bianca Stuart (6:42m) as she leaped to a distance of 6:43m, securing her the gold medal. The remaining Anguillian athletes Mr. Yoann Romney placed eight in the high jump with a height of 1.90m, Mr. Keron Rogers placed 18th in the hundred meters with a time of 11.28 seconds and Akeeme Mussington jumped a distance of 6:81m in the long jump.
The Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships (CAC) were recently held in the Dominican Republic. Several Anguillan athletes produced competitive performances.
