Golf Day Fundraiser
Anguilla was thrilled to have participated in the Queen’s Baton relay at the end of March this past year and one of the featured stops was Anguilla’s very own Temenos Golf Course! The Baton is currently travelling throughout India on it’s way to New Delhi after visiting 71 countries throughout the Commonwealth ahead of the Games which starts in New Delhi on 4th October 2010. Anguilla will be represented at the Commonwealth Games by (9) Anguilla Athletics from track and field and (6) Anguilla Cyclists who will compete in Time Trials as well as the Road Race.
On behalf of the Anguilla Golf Association we are proud to be assisting the Anguilla Commonwealth Games Association and Athletes by co-hosting a Golf Day Fundraiser on Saturday 28th August where all those who take part will gain an opportunity to meet and greatly assist in helping the Athletes and Cyclists in their preparations to represent Anguilla at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
The fee to participate will be a US $50.00 donation in addition to your usual green fees. If you are off island or unable to participate, your donation will kindly be accepted. Please spread the word to your friends, neighbors and co-workers to support this cause.
The tournament coordinator is Larry Stott, AGA. Make-up your own foursome and sign-up or call in as an individual and the Coordinator will pair you up for the event. All entries are to be made no later than 6:00 PM on Thursday, 26 August by calling the Temenos Golf Club at 498-5602 yet early reservations are greatly appreciated in this instance.
The format for the days game will be a Scramble. In a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed. For information email: annemrabatin@hotmail.com
Thank you for your support.
